Why per location beats per user for shared spaces
Most print management tools charge for every person who prints. That works for a company with a steady headcount. It doesn’t for a coworking space with 120 members this month and 140 next month, or an office where visitors print a boarding pass once.
If a per-user tool costs $2 per person a month, 120 members is $240 a month, and it grows with every member you sign. Commontray Space is $59 for the location, however many people print.
And because Commontray needs no print server, no card readers and no release terminals, there’s no hardware line on the bill either.
The Commontray Box is optional
Commontray runs on a computer you already have: Windows, macOS or Linux, even a Raspberry Pi. If you’d rather plug something in, the Commontray Box comes ready to go, with a touch screen for the release code and a port that takes your printers off the shared network.

What counts as a location?
One site: a building or floor with its own network, where Commontray runs on one computer or one Commontray Box. Any number of printers on that network and any number of people are included.
Do you charge per printer or per person?
No. Team and Space are one price per location, whether ten people print or five hundred, on one printer or twelve. The Free plan covers one printer.
Is there a discount for paying yearly?
Yes. Pay for a year up front and you get 2 months free.
What does the Free plan leave out?
Free covers one printer with printing from any device, Office files, release in the app and 30 days of reports. Secure release with QR stickers, email to print, alerts, access from anywhere and charging are on the paid plans.
Do I need the Commontray Box?
No. Commontray runs on any Windows, macOS or Linux computer that stays on at your site, including a Raspberry Pi. The Commontray Box is for spaces that would rather plug something in, or want their printers off the shared network.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Move between plans whenever you like; your printers, settings and reports stay as they are.
